13:02:16 From Mike Harryman to Everyone: State Transportation Regional Resiliency Assessment Link: https://www.oregon.gov/gov/policy/Pages/resilience.aspx 13:02:22 From Sanderson, Dylan R to Ruggiero, Peter(Direct Message): I’m not sure if you heard from Dan, but he had something come up and won’t be able to make it 13:08:08 From Felicia Olmeta-Schult (she/her), OR Sea Grant to Everyone: Oregon Coastal Hazards Ready (OCHR) Library & Mapper: http://bit.ly/OCHRMapper 13:09:10 From Kolesar, Sarah E to Everyone: Very exciting, thanks for sharing, Felicia!! 13:18:55 From Barth, John A to Everyone: sorry to be late .,,, 13:19:30 From Ruggiero, Peter to Everyone: Welcome Jack! 13:22:09 From Gwen Shaughnessy, NOAA OCM to Everyone: My guess is either no change in perception, or very temporary 13:22:12 From Jay Raskin to Everyone: I think that it had very little affect. 13:22:26 From Jack Barth, MSI to Everyone: no change 13:22:34 From Charlie Plybon to Ruggiero, Peter(Direct Message): FYI - I need to hop off around 2:30…getting my booster! 13:22:54 From Ruggiero, Peter to Charlie Plybon (Direct Message): Good luck! got mine last night and am suffereing a bit right now... 13:22:56 From Gwen Shaughnessy, NOAA OCM to Everyone: Perhaps more to the Tohoku and NY article 13:23:00 From Sarah Absher, Tillamook County to Everyone: Risk Signals- Garnered affect. Market no effect. 13:23:18 From Meg Reed to Everyone: I think the Tohoku and NY article may have a temporary impact 13:25:58 From Charlie Plybon to Everyone: I think to Sarah’s point, the development interests aren’t exactly within the community 13:26:14 From Jay Raskin to Everyone: This isn’t to say that individuals made decisions not to purchase or to leave, but not in sufficient numbers to make a difference. 13:29:37 From Gwen Shaughnessy, NOAA OCM to Everyone: Connected to what Sarah was sharing - wondering if there is a way to measure and capture public engagement? 13:29:52 From Laurel Hillmann (OPRD) to Everyone: It would be interesting to see what type of sustained efforts are occurring. Are people updating those purchases of kits as things expire. Has retrofitting waned? Other preparedness actions that take a longer time or need to continue over time... 13:29:59 From Meg Reed to Everyone: Number of community caches developed 13:30:27 From Althea Rizzo - Oregon to Everyone: How many jurisdictions are seeking federal funding for mitigation projects 13:31:20 From Patrick Corcoran to Everyone: How many public entities relocated out of the zone? Locally, I'm aware of State Patrol, ODOT, among others. 13:32:38 From Patrick Corcoran to Everyone: Did earthquake insurance premiums increase after these info shocks? 13:33:52 From Meg Reed to Everyone: number of media mentions focused on earthquake and tsunami topics 13:35:03 From Ruggiero, Peter to Everyone: # of folks at Sarah A's meetings 13:35:11 From Charlie Plybon to Everyone: How much $ was spent sending Pat around the state:) 13:35:24 From Jay Raskin to Everyone: In regards to Patrick’s question… Lincoln County schools are now out of tsunami zone, as are Seaside schools, and Yachats Fire Station and likely Gearhart Fire Station. Cannon Beach still looking at relocating City Hall. 13:36:49 From Mike Harryman to Everyone: so are the hospitals in Lincoln City and Newport (they moved in 2019) 13:53:28 From Michael Bufalino ODOT to Everyone: Further study question regarding the visual markers. "what spatial density is necessary" for the visual que 13:53:33 From Charlie Plybon to Everyone: Totally agree w/ Pat 13:53:47 From Ruggiero, Peter to Everyone: A. can you put the 6-9 % impacts in average absolute terms? 13:53:54 From Sarah Absher, Tillamook County to Everyone: I agree 14:03:52 From Charlie Plybon to Everyone: Sarah is spot on for this. Everybody should be robbing TLT for good IMO. Coastal communities don’t need to bring more people into harms way 14:04:11 From Althea Rizzo - Oregon to Everyone: That kind of local funding can be leveraged as match for federal mitigation projects 14:05:26 From Tilt, Jenna H to Everyone: This is good to know in terms of thinking about the cost metrics that can be model in Envision. 14:08:32 From Althea Rizzo - Oregon to Everyone: The Japanese put the visual cues in their wayfinding 14:09:16 From Charlie Plybon to Everyone: I agree but where they are makes a big difference (urban vs. residential) If the lines were more personal to homes and properties, say people’s mailboxes were colored one color or another based on where they were in the tsunami zone, I’d expect a stronger housing response 14:09:34 From Sarah Absher, Tillamook County to Everyone: Another factor that was part of the determination for where it was appropriate to install blue line improvements are the conditions of roads and the likelihood of ensuring the road can be maintained. Another struggle for local jurisdictions is that road improvement budgets are severely lacking- and existing road conditions can already be poor. In these instances, we defaulted to signage rather than blue lines just simply due to the fact that it did not make sense to install blue lines on roads that we knew were in poor condition and/or would not be maintained. 14:10:00 From Patrick Corcoran to Everyone: real estate disclosure regulations are long overdue 14:12:48 From Charlie Plybon to Everyone: Paint an arrow on the street pointing at the house then:) 14:15:43 From Tilt, Jenna H to Everyone: I think wayfinding evacuation visual cues in public spaces will continue to grow--particularly in WUI communities (fire dominated communities...) 14:19:10 From Patrick Corcoran to Everyone: I think that it is important to mark where the "high enough" ground is. Many signs are wayfaring sequences, but I've seen very few You're Here! signs. The Blue line project does this. 14:22:03 From Charlie Plybon to Everyone: If you make the “developable area” smaller, it stands to logic that housing in some communities would become denser in areas outside of the tsunami zone 14:22:09 From Meg Reed to Everyone: Moving out of one hazard into another (e.g. landslides) 14:27:04 From Althea Rizzo - Oregon to Everyone: My apologies, but I need to leave. Thank you for the great conversation. Thank you Amila for all of your work. 14:27:35 From Amila Hadziomerspahic to Everyone: Thank you, Althea, for all of the great information and ideas! 14:33:51 From Charlie Plybon to Everyone: Public spaces and beaches are big for co-benefits 14:34:20 From Gwen Shaughnessy, NOAA OCM to Everyone: I think part of the struggle is looking at residents/community as a homogenous group - I think there's messaging approaches that will "land" differently with different groups with different values and concerns. 14:34:22 From Ruggiero, Peter to Meg Reed(Direct Message): looks like you keep unmuting. feel free to grab the floor! 14:34:49 From Charlie Plybon to Everyone: ^++ 14:35:56 From Tilt, Jenna H to Everyone: Yes--Gwen! Great comment :) 14:40:40 From Charlie Plybon to Everyone: HI has long had some hazard disclosure, now they have sea level rise disclosure too, will be interesting how the market follows - https://www.surfrider.org/coastal-blog/entry/hawaiis-new-law-requires-real-estate-disclosures-for-sea-level-rise?fbclid=IwAR0WczGsSk-Prh7ACjEy7YxIy3l2tkp6NrVmJ3Kl5-rwYORVWWse_TrbGes. I expect some Surfrider longhair to introduce things like this in Oregon 14:41:46 From Patrick Corcoran to Everyone: Apparently, similar proposals have been introduced in OR, only to be squashed by the real estate lobby... 14:42:13 From Gwen Shaughnessy, NOAA OCM to Everyone: In a lot of states - Patrick! 14:42:33 From Patrick Corcoran to Everyone: During Cascadia we will experience 100 years of sea level rise in about 30 minutes... 14:45:30 From Charlie Plybon to Everyone: Gotta run, thanks for a great discussion, I really appreciate this work and all of the individuals participating. 14:45:45 From Tilt, Jenna H to Everyone: Thanks Charlie!! 14:47:35 From Kolesar, Sarah E to Everyone: Great conversation and presentation, thank you, Amila!! 14:48:45 From Patrick Corcoran to Everyone: Hey, Meg. Nice interview on KGW for the King Tides story! I noticed my video was aired too!! 14:50:03 From Meg Reed to Everyone: Thanks, Pat! And thanks for sharing your videos. The ones from Rockaway Beach have been very impactful. 14:54:22 From Jay Raskin to Everyone: Great work and very timely 14:55:19 From Michael Bufalino ODOT to Everyone: I have to step off to another meeting. 14:55:19 From Ruggiero, Peter to Everyone: https://cascadiacopeshub.org/ 14:55:46 From Michael Bufalino ODOT to Everyone: Thanks to the team 14:55:50 From Tilt, Jenna H to Everyone: Thanks Michael! 14:59:00 From Jack Barth, MSI to Everyone: The CoPe is wonderful news and builds on this great OSG-funded work 14:59:33 From Gwen Shaughnessy, NOAA OCM to Everyone: Thanks everyone! 14:59:38 From Michael Howard | UO-IPRE to Everyone: Bye
